We try to source salvaged materials for all our products. We try to never use new materials (except electrical equipment and materials for hanging or standing). Should our waste streams (our material sources) run out you own a limited edition product. That's why we number each one and produce each series in batches of fifty. If we do need new materials we make sure to use recycled and or FSC certified products.
Collaborative
As a kit you have a hand in the making and that equals a larger stake in the owning. You are encouraged to finish and to personalize your purchase. Take it further. Customize your lamp. Paint it (using acrylic, water based paint), add to it any way you like. Send us pictures, we'd be thrilled to see what you have done and we'd love to post some images on the website.
Recyclable
Our lamps can be recycled after your done with them so please make sure all packaging and the shade are recycled after use. All our scraps of scraps get made into swag, company materials or are recycled.

Why lamps?
The simple answer is light. The human connection to light has a profound and ancient history. Light evokes a connection to, and role in, nature. The patterns of light and dark pervade our instincts and cultures, our myths and modernity. Knowing and understanding our role in nature invokes a responsibility to our surroundings and an ownership in being stewards of our world. We couldn’t think of a more fun, enticing, collaborative and accessible way to launch.
