SCRAP - Salvaged, Collaborative, Recyclable Alternative Projects
Was our first step in Rethinking Consumption
Salvaged
We try to source benign salvaged materials - wood and paper - for projects. We try to avoid virgin materials when possible. When we do need to use new materials we make our best attempt to use recycled and or FSC certified materials.
Collaborative
Most of our products are conceived, developed and work-shopped in a collaborative process. We believe design is better when it's a communal effort.
You are encouraged to finish or personalize your purchase. Take it further, add to it as you like and send us pictures!
We'd be thrilled to see what you have done and we'd love to post some images on the website.
Recyclable
Most of the materials in our projects can be reused or recycled after you're done with them. All the scraps of your SCRAPs get made into swag, company materials or are recycled giving us low overall waste.

Our inaugural SCRAP product was the Zara Lamp series™. Discontinued now, we began our journey by designing lamps because of our love of light. Light evokes our connection to, and role in, nature. The patterns of light and dark pervade our instincts and cultures, our myths and modernity. We couldn’t think of a more fun, enticing, collaborative and accessible product to launch our SCRAP lines with.
Our SCRAP 1.0 philosophy was just the beginning.
We envision SCRAP 2.0 - Self-assembling, Certified, Renewable Alternative Projects.
Stay tuned for updates!
In the meantime, check out our projects.
